Be a Mentor

Forming Lives. Cultivating Wisdom. Multiplying Hope

How we see mentorship

We think of mentorship as an integral part of formation. We believe that the flourishing of Africa’s future needs a generation of thinkers and practitioners formed in wisdom, deeply committed to integrity, and guided by an enduring sense of vocation. As a mentor, you are invited to participate in this sacred task: to walk alongside emerging scholars as they discern their path, deepen their convictions, and prepare to serve the world with courage and clarity.

Why Mentor with Breed

What we are offering is a rare space where scholars and practitioners pour into the lives of students eager to learn, wrestle, and lead. In this relational and dialogic journey, mentors help students:

  • Cultivate habits of critical and intellectual honesty.
  • Discern vocation at the intersection of faith, public life, and scholarship.
  • Navigate academic and professional pathways with excellence.
  • Reflect character, responsibility, and service in a complex world.
  • Engage the challenges of our time with imagination and moral clarity.

Who we invite to mentor

We welcome individuals who embody both depth and generosity, including:

  1. Academics with a passion for teaching and guiding inquiry across disciplines.
  2. Practitioners engaged in development, law, economics, technology, the arts, and beyond.
  3. Ministry leaders and theologians with a gift for pastoral discernment and spiritual formation.

Our mentors understand mentorship as a gift of presence, a practice of generosity, and a responsibility toward the common good.
